History (none) First issued to Scouts attending the 1977 National Jamboree. It was designed by Troop 10 Scoutmaster Bart Price who detested the "hippie" SMCC CSP that the Scouts liked. The new design featured Spanish Conquistador Gaspar de Portola who discovered San Francisco Bay on the left and Junipero Serra who established eight of the California missions on the right.
