Council History

Logan Council 588 was organized in 1916 and changed its name to Cache Valley County Council in 1922. At the time, there were four types of councils: city, county, district, and area, so Logan (a city council) became Cache Valley (a county council.) In 1924, 15 troops from Idaho were transferred to Cache Valley and it became an area council with a name change to Cache Valley Area Council. It was generally referred to as Cache Valley Council throughout its history. In 1993, the council merged with Jim Bridger Council 639 and Lake Bonneville Council 589 to form the new Trapper Trails Council 589.
