Issued in 1971, this flap is a slight modification of the S2. The differences are that the S3 has a rolled edge and the elk has a more blunted nose. This flap differs from the S4 in border color. The rolled edge was accidentally ordered by an office worker. When the patches came in, the members disliked them so the 2 per year restriction was lifted. The patch sold out in August of the same year. The patch was made by Geer Patch Company.
