Lodge History

Nez Perce Lodge (299) was chartered to the Vigilante Council (313), headquartered in Butte, Montana, on June 4, 1945. A total of 191 Scouts and Scouters had been inducted between the date of the founding of the lodge and the start of the 1951 charter year. The lodge struggled during the 1950s, not rechartering in 1952, and having a membership drop from 1955 to 1956. The lodge remained active throughout the 1960s. It helped re-establish Wilgus Lodge (361) in 1953 and attended annual Section Conclaves between 1956 and the time of the lodge merger in 1974.
