This patch has an interesting back story. I think it was manufactured in 1964, rather than 1968. It was ordered by a youth lodge member from an overseas manufacturer (which explains the poor quality) and the patches were eventually traced back to that member. The story that follows was confirmed by the person who placed the order and the Dance Team advisor at the time (Bob Leece). According to Bob, the fallout nearly derailed the election of the only Ahtuhquog member to serve as 3-f Area Chief. As Wayne Miller was the only Area Chief from 540, this dates the patch to 1964. The scout involved was required to turn over his stock of patches, which were then sold by the lodge, so the patch is correctly classified as a lodge issue.
